Fireworks were introduced in Europe as military explosives often used to showcase and celebrate victories. Italian firework manufacturers were brilliant in elaborate productions which consist of rich decorations of wooden sets, often floating on water bodies to reflect the beauty and to ensure safety. Italian fireworks though very complex, were artistic and elegant but lacked color and shine due to undeveloped technology. German pyrotechnic masters at that time were mostly shooting fireworks into air, just like present day fireworks.
